Just in Case

Just in case you need another reminder, here's an article from LawIssues.com:

Never Talk to the Police.

It's not that I don't like the police.  It's just that, if you are being questioned, no good comes from trying to answer.  Either they already have what they need (so they don't need your answers) or they don't (and need to get back to work finding it).  You will be unable to help yourself.  All you can do is hurt yourself.

I've mentioned it here, here, here, here, here, and here.

Hmm...  I'm starting to sense a pattern.

I work with cops, I generally like most of the cops I encounter, cops have done me favors in the past. At one point I was sort of a cop. With all of that being said, if any cop wants to ask me any questions other than, "How about them Red Sox?" I'm shutting up and lawyering up.

Especially if I'm innocent.

That's the best way to be safe (and free)!
